Old pool pumps don't always fail dramatically. Sometimes they just get louder, less efficient, and start costing you more money every month on your electric bill. That's usually when it's time to make a change.
We pulled out the worn-down single-speed motor and swapped in a Pentair IntelliFlo3 VSF - one of the best variable speed pumps on the market. Variable speed pumps are a big deal because they don't run at full blast 24/7. They adjust their speed based on what the pool actually needs, which means quieter operation and significantly lower energy consumption compared to older single-speed units.
The plumbing connections matter just as much as the equipment itself. A pump that's installed with sloppy fittings or the wrong union connections is going to cause headaches down the road - leaks, air getting into the lines, pressure problems. We make sure everything is tight, properly seated, and set up so future service is easy to access.
The IntelliFlo3 also pairs well with automation systems if you ever want to control your pool equipment from your phone. It's built with that kind of flexibility in mind, which makes it a smart long-term investment and not just a straight replacement.
Bottom line - good equipment only performs as well as the install behind it. We've seen plenty of high-end pumps underperform because corners were cut during installation. That's not how we do things.
